What made you choose The Westgate Hotel as your venue?
We thought long and hard about where we would throw this celebration. We went around the world twice, trying to decide. We knew since most of our family would need to travel regardless, might as well choose someplace unforgettable. Therefore, it meant a lot to share this day in the place where our love first transpired. We found the perfect domestic locale, with plenty of French charm, to achieve our nomadic dreams at the Westgate Hotel in San Diego, CA. Just down the street, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, our home parish, was the obvious choice to hold our ceremony and exchange vows. Both of these places were sentimental during the preparation for our Wedding Day.
What made you choose Shoot Me Now Films to document your day?
During our quest for the perfect location, we had a period of time when our hearts were set on Barcelona. We stumbled across a trailer that you had made and instantly fell in love with your point of view, creativity, originality and direction. When we finally decided to get married in the US, we researched tons of videographers... we found ourselves comparing each one to you. That’s when we both realized what the obvious choice was ;)
What do you guys do?, what is important in life to you? How do you spend your days?
Victoria works in recruitment and Isaac works in advertising. We both incredibly value our faith, family and friends. We live an active lifestyle, so when we are not working, we love to travel, drink tequila and create lasting memories through our love of adventure.
The proposal, how did it happen, what is the story?
We were on our way to Palm Springs after celebrating Thanksgiving at home and listened to the live feed of the Michigan V. Ohio State football game. It was pretty cool outside, low 60s, and Isaac insisted on having the AC on full blast. I got it... it was a close game. But the game ended, the cold air didn't and that was because the perfectly planned engagement was about to unfold. Our beautifully decorated room, Isaac on one knee and a hand-written note "Will you marry me?" set the perfect scene, for an unforgettable proposal.
What kind of experience did you want for your guests from your wedding?
We had 3 main goals: 1) Grasp the European vibe we were originally after. 2) Be in a convenient location, easily accessible for the 80% of our guests traveling in. 3) And ultimately to embrace the place that our love story first started. While everything turned out beautiful, our focus was to make sure everyone was able to dance, drink, eat well and celebrate such a big day in our lives.
