The Kelliher Estate Wedding, Auckland - New Zealand Wedding Videogrpaher
What made you choose The Kelliher Estate as your venue?
It was most beautiful, different and private out of all we saw. Neither of us knew if anyone who has been married there
What made you choose Shoot Me Now Films to document your day
You have such a unique, interesting and heart felt way of telling stories. We couldn’t find anyone in NZ like you!
What do you guys do?, what is important in life to you? Hoe do you spend your days?
Joel: Intern Psychologist aiming to get registered as a clinical psychologist next year. Becca: Customer Service Specialist/Project Manager at a fibre broadband company. Also, a casual wedding caker Important to us: friends, family, God, food, travelling, each other, fun and laughs! Other than work, we often try our new cafes/restaurants in town, we love having friends over for food and games, we love traveling, often visit friends and family in Auckland, and we gym a couple times a week
The proposal, how did it happen, what is the story?
We had been talking about getting married and so started to look at venues for fun. There was a particular venue down south that Becca thought was really beautiful and would have wanted to marry there if we didn’t have it in Auckland. I contacted the venue and asked if I could propose there. So, I organised for Becca and I to ‘visit’ the venue and ended up surprising her there. I did it in their rose garden under a gazebo. There were petals everywhere, a table with a card (which I read out to her), a unicorn cake (unicorns are a personal joke we have) and we love cake, and a globe to represent our love for travel and exploration. There was also a sign on an easel which read ‘You are my Sunshine’ as I always call Becca that (hence why our recessional song was walking on sunshine). I also placed a flower crown on her head when we got to the gazebo and got her to take a seat while a read out the card. Then I got on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes, we kissed and i put the ring on her! We then flew up to Auckland to surprise family and friends who had no idea! Our friends including extended friend group were having a potluck that night so it was really great to be able to surprise all of them
What kind of experience did you want for your guests from your wedding?
Powerful, heartfelt, fun, and good food!
