Destination weddings allow me the one thing that other wedding sometimes lack...... Time.
The time to build a story around a couple of days rather than one.
I love the challenge of filming weddings in the UK, in order to create something beautiful with a very strict timeframe and in, sometimes, a stressful environment, obviously not all weddings are but sometimes those 10 minutes you need disappear in the excitement and awe of the day.
With destination weddings, I have a little more of this precious commodity to film things I wouldn't normally be able to film, to take in the landscape that a couple must love so much to choose to get married there. It's an important thing and with Rebecca + Ryan this was no exception.
Getting married in the beautiful surroundings of il Chiostro di San Francesco (The cloisters of San Francesco) under the gaze of the amalfi landscape was beautiful and I hope something that Rebecca + Ryan will cherish for ever.
A quick trip around the streets of Sorrento and we popped over to the Hotel Mediterraneo and the Vista Vista Sky Bar, which has a 360 Degree view of Sorrento which, for the first 30 minutes, takes your breath away. Being lucky enough to work here before I knew where to shoot and how to use the time we had in a brilliant way to film the sunset and the life happening around the wedding.
I know for a fact that this couple, surrounded by their closest family and freinds had such an amazing time and they looked after me so well I really can't thank them enough.
It was great to work with some local proffessionals who I can't wait to catch up with in Septmeber when I am in this beautiful city again for a wedding.
